This notice explains how FinTax Consultants (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information when you visit fintaxconsultants.co.uk, book a call, subscribe to our newsletter or become a client. We act as the data controller for this information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number when you book a consultation, send us a message or subscribe.
- Booking details — the date and time you choose and anything you tell us about your business in the booking form.
- Client records — if you become a client, the financial and tax information we need to prepare your accounts, returns and payroll.
- Technical data — basic information your browser sends, such as IP address and device type, used to keep the site secure.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and hold the consultation you booked (steps taken at your request before a contract).
- To provide accounting, tax and payroll services and meet our legal duties, including anti-money-laundering checks (contract and legal obligation).
- To send our monthly email of tax dates and tips — only if you subscribed, and you can unsubscribe at any time (consent).
- To keep the website secure and working properly (legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only where needed: with HMRC and Companies House when we file on your behalf, with the cloud accounting software you use (such as Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent), and with our website, email and booking providers, who process it on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant tax year, as HMRC requires, and then securely deleted.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies it needs to work (for example, to remember that you have seen a notice or to run the booking calendar). We do not use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, object to how we use it, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Email hello@fintaxconsultants.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
